Foundation of BPW International
BPW International was founded in 1930 by Lena Madesin Phillips , a visionary woman determined to transform the reality of women in the workplace. Phillips believed that economic development and education were fundamental to female emancipation and that, together, women could gain more space and influence in society.
Since its creation, BPW International has expanded to more than 100 countries , creating a social and intellectually active space for women from different cultures, businesswomen, executives and professionals from the most diverse areas of activity, production and knowledge. The organization works to strengthen the female presence in politics, the economy and global leadership, promoting innovative initiatives for entrepreneurship, equal pay, education and professional training.
